Falls Festival Official Line-up

Falls Festival Official Line-up

Georgia Hick

Christmas decorations come down by January 5th.

The morning after pill gets taken within 72 hours.

And your last, hackneyed, ‘Post-splendour-depression’ selfie has to go up before the Falls line-up is announced.

WHICH MEANS if you didn’t do it by yesterday then you’re too late, 'cos that sweet, sweet Falls line-up is here.

If you missed the announcement on triple-j yesterday morning, never fear, cos we’ve got the breakdown for you right here, right now.

Froth-tastic Falls Festival favourite Foals are front and centre, headlining with the dancey Disclosure, so we recommend you up your cardio endurance training now to ensure you can boogie long and hard come New Year’s.

It wouldn’t be an Aussie festival if the Hilltop Hoods weren’t there in some capacity, (we all know the only reason Splendour didn’t have them was to be different), they’ll be joined by Mac De Marco, Django Django, Birds of Tokyo, and no doubt some other bands ending with ‘o’, we can probably include American Toro Y Moi in that group right?

Also reppin ‘Murica is Texan (we won’t hold it against him) guitar prodigy Gary Clark Jr who’s sure to melt a few hearts with his smooth serenades and get those toes tapping with his bluesier numbers. Also bringing the blues is Paul Kelly, so that’s pretty excellent.

If you didn’t catch Aussie act Alpine on their recent Foolish National Tour, then this is your chance, same goes for Meg Mac who recently broke my fragile heart by allowing her Adelaide show to sell out before I could snag a ticket (rude). Other Australian acts include swift-spitting Seth Sentry, grunge-grooving Courtney Barnett and crowd-pleaser RÜFÜS, beloved by pillheads and musos alike.

I’m almost out of snappy segues, so I’ll simply state that Young Fathers and Little May will be there, and they’re great so that’s great, and the merciless Weird Al Yankovic is this year’s wildcard, sure to split sides with his musical parodies.

If you didn't want to give up your firstborn child to get Fleetwood Mac Tickets for this October, then London DJ Collective Fleetmac Wood, may well be the next best thing, spinning some truly sensational Mac remixes and edits.
