We ended August at the ever so tasty, Fat Controller. It was a night filled with great tunes that excelled our expectations. With a mix of alternative and indie rock, every band brought something to the stage that really blew us away. Headliners, Indiago, recently came back from an insane tour in China and decided to grace Adelaide with their first show since.
First support act, Contract Love, kicked the night off with an enticing sound that had a nostalgic vibe about it. More so, the vocalist's voice was almost reminiscent of artist, Vera Blue, with a hint of sweet grungy-ness to her that is complimented very well by the powerful and electrifying guitar, and hard-hitting drums. This three piece has a very tight sound that leaves you in a daze of indie rock goodness.
After a nice little warm-up, Sleepy Lizard, were next to hit the stage and oh boy they did not disappoint. After seeing these hypnotic reptiles, it's obvious to say that the electronic/indie rock melodic tunes they were spitting out were something completely out of this world. This band definitely got the crowd swaying and dancing almost in a trance, absolutely enticed by their performance and they created a great atmosphere for the headliners to jump straight into.
Now, if you've been sleeping on Indiago, it's time to wake up and pump your veins with their outstanding music. Each song left us in awe, with divine vocals and filthy guitar that you can feel in your chest, that makes you want to close your eyes and just get swept away. Their covers of Kings Of Leon and Matt Corby really hit it out of the ballpark, with lead vocalist making us wonder if we were actually attending a Kings Of Leon concert. Indiago really have a unique alternative sound that is very clearly filled with a lot of guts and passion, these locals fellas have surely cemented their name in the music industry. They completely blew the roof off of Fat Controller, and will no doubt go very far.
