If your'e a fan of Pop and RnB music I'm sure you've visited Haçienda, the laneway hotspot that's bringing back their Be Kind, Rewind night for its second instalment this Friday night. Be Kind, Rewind is set to take all you 80s and 90s babies on a magical time travelling journey to a nostalgic wonderland; starting at 2017 and working its way back to 1990 over the course of the night.
The rewind begins with some of our faves like Kendrick Lamar and The Rubens, gradually going back through the years at a rate of 5 years per hour. They'll be hitting some heartstrings with features from Hoobastank, Craig David, and of course your boy Usher Raymond. No genre of music is off limits either, so get ready to scream your heart out to some Blink 182, Cyprus Hill, and Rage Against The Machine. Our Majesty the Queen Beyoncé will also be paid special tribute throughout the night, with her bangers playing from 2017 to 1990, gracing our ears as always.
Coming back with the Be Kind, Rewind tradition will be their 90s Rave Juice, an absinthe based drink served in a plastic glad-bag with a glow-stick. This bad boy packs a punch and only 1 per person is permitted *cue the fake moustache and glasses to try score another*.
How are we gonna keep track of what year it is while cutting a rug? Well there's a big bloody countdown timer on the wall controlled by the DJ to let everyone know what year the music is up to, so your worries can be left on the d-floor. Can't make it this Friday night? Don't fret, Haçienda will be hosting Be Kind, Rewind every few months, so keep your eyes peeled on their social media accounts!
Be Kind, Rewind is set to be more 90s than Fresh Prince, overalls, cassette players, and the Spice Girls put together. This Friday night, July 14, doors open at 9pm and entry is free before 10:30pm – only $10 thereafter (so cheap, it's as if we're in the 90s, right?!). For more info head to the Facebook event here and check out Haçienda's Facebook and Instagram to get a head-start on the weekend rave!
