Boho-luxe Finds A Home On King William Road With Coltish Boutique

Michaela McGrath

Introducing their brand new winter collection, King William Road’s Coltish Boutique invited us to shop their AW17 range last Thursday night. Following an extraordinary premiere summer season, Coltish have already secured their place as a go-to boutique for all of our boho-luxe needs.

Giving us definite Byron coastal vibes, Coltish Boutique’s carefully curated range of Australian labels, chic designs and undeniably quality pieces have become a hit with the locals since its launch in September 2016. While the light beachwear and gorgeous range of maxi-dresses and crochet pieces were perfect for Adelaide’s scorching summer months, the Coltish AW17 range sees a blend of relaxed bohemian style and winter warmers hitting the racks. An influx of chunky knits and sweater dresses, jumpsuits and jackets sees the King William Road boutique transform into a haven wardrobe of autumnal transitional pieces during the cooler months.

Aside from the knitwear, outerwear and classic range of boho-chic clothing, Coltish also stock an array of accessories, footwear and stunning prints by Charlotte Pelletier. Owner Kate Campbell prides herself on stocking primarily Australian labels, including stunning frames by Quay Eyewear, gorg accessories by F and H Jewellery and beautiful pieces by We Are Kindred, Rue Stiic and Isabelle Quinn.

Growing up in Adelaide since the age of four, before moving to Sydney to pursue her passion for fashion, Campbell launched Coltish Boutique following her return to our great city. After passing by the empty shopfront – previously tenanted by Whistles – she was flooded with memories of shopping great Aussie labels such as Camilla and Marc on after school shopping trips. Combined with a dream of owning her own business and a deep love for Australian coastal labels, Campbell was unstoppable in her mission to bring beachy bohemian vibes to inner-city Hyde Park.

Campbell has studied fashion design in Sydney, gained invaluable experience within an array or internships and work experience opportunities including Sass and Bide and Sydney Fashion Week. The result of her combined efforts is a beautifully curated range, personable customer service approach, a sharp local focus and an all-round pleasurable shopping experience.

Presented by Adelaide’s resident girl-bosses at Girl About Town, the Thursday night event captured the luxe essence of the Coltish experience. With bespoke cupcakes by The Bake Space, Nutella treats by fellow King William Road locals at Farina Pasta and Wine and Sparkling Pinot by Bird in Hand, we enjoyed an indulgent evening of late night shopping.

We had a chat with Campbell herself to grab the inside scoop on her favourite Autumn/Winter pieces this year:

Rue Stiic Isabel Fringe Sweater in Black. Made from chunky acrylic yarn, this jumper’s double row of fringing injects a boho essence into the otherwise cosy winter look. Pair with light wash jeans for a casual look or style over your fave little black dress for a pop of texture.

Three Of Something Nostalgic Jumper in Winter White. This extra soft sweater includes a rayon bodice and frill peplum detailing that peep out from under this ready to go winter staple. Complete with a rose gold zip at the back, this piece can be worn comfortably loose or let out at the back for an oversized look.

To inject summer loving bohemian vibes into your winter wardrobe, get down to Coltish Boutique on King William Road. Can’t get enough? Follow Campbell and the girls at @coltishboutique for some serious outfit envy.
