Rugged up in the season’s cosiest knitwear, we hit Westfield Marion last Wednesday for the launch of Wool Week 2017. In a celebration of our fave cosy textile, the Winter 17 fashion campaign saw a fitting collaboration with The Woolmark Company.
The evening saw designers, stylists and fashion fanatics unite to celebrate Australian wool, as well as the producers, designers and labels that use it. Although winter may start with wool, a decadent spread of eats and treats by Out in the Paddock, wines by Majella Wines and cocktails by Steve the Bartender, had us feeling warm inside and out while we waited in anticipation for special guest Samantha Harris.
We were beyond thrilled to welcome the renowned Australian fashion model to Westfield Marion for her much anticipated visit to Adelaide. Donning a stunning Cameo Collective dress, paired with heels by Tony Bianco and accessories by Mimco and Kookai, all courtesy of David Jones, Sam was the picture of AW fashion. Imparting her top tips for staying stylish and comfortable during the chilly months, we had some serious style envy of her casual chic, signature look.
Sam’s Top AW17 Tips:
For a casual brunch date with the girls: Sam’s go-to look is a classic jeans and plain white tee. Keeping it simple but with an edge of clean, crisp style ensures the look’s timeless and effortless vibe.
For a night out on the town: Sam amps it up but keeps it simple with a staple little black dress. She says you “can’t go wrong” in an LBD and we tend to agree with her.
Her number one piece of fashion advice? Quality pieces. Sam packs her wardrobe with quality basics and essentials, as well as a few killer staple pieces. She recommends splashing out on tailored pants and a great jacket for the ultimate dress-it-up-or-down ensemble. You’ll find Sam shopping for quality pieces that can be mixed and matched for any occasion.
We loved lapping up the latest in winter season knitwear at Westfield Marion, to keep up with their latest look books, trends and events head to @westfieldmarion. For even more from the night, head on over to our gallery.
