Everyone loves dogs. Never trust people who don't like dogs. I'm a cat person, but I like dogs so much that if I thought it was contextually relevant to this article, I would add a slideshow of puppies just for the entertainment value.
Everyone also likes music festivals. It's why people keep going even though last time, they were knee-deep in mud, lost their iPhone 7s in a swamp and had to post a 'missing items request' on the Facebook event, and forgot to bring deodorant.
What if you could combine these two excellent things?
Introducing Houndwave: a doggo-friendly music festival. It's less metal bands and more dogs making friends with other dogs, less Walls of Death, but more potentially being smothered by ten dogs.
Presented by Adelaide WestEnd, Houndwave is a free community event that gives dog-owners the opportunity to bring their pets to a gathering of fellow dog-appreciators, with the added bonus of a terrific musical line-up. There will be live performances from local dog-loving musicians Thom Lion, Donnarumma, Paige Court, Sasha March Music, Todd Sibbin and more.
There will also be dog-related market stalls, food and beverages (it is unclear at this point if there will be equal availability for both humans and canines), comedians, exhibitors and performers, dog and owner competitions, and activities for children. The event will also have a licensed area, and patrons are encouraged to bring along a picnic blanket and enjoy the atmopshere.
The only criteria is that you #mustlovedogs.
Houndwave will be fundraising for the RSPCA, and the Animal Welfare League.
Dogs must be on leashes at all times and be appropriately socialised with other dogs/people.
When: April 1, 2017, 11AM-6PM.
Where: Light Square (Wauwi), Adelaide.
Facebook event: Houndwave.
Bring your family, your friends, and man's best friend, it's sure to be a lot of fun and a great time out for the dogs. (Of course, it'll be a bit weird if you're only just there to pet other people's dogs, but I'm sure the dogs won't complain.)
