Want to spend a day in your activewear on the grass doing yoga poses, drinking smoothies and finding your zen? Head down to the City of Unley's inaugural Meraki Festival on Sunday February 26 for a day of nurturing your mind, body and soul.
The festival is the City of Unley's major Fringe event this year and will be held at Soldiers Memorial Gardens in the heart of Unley. The Gardens boast the perfect scenery for an event like this, being a great opportunity to learn some new moves in the Rotunda, sip a coffee under the trees, or meditate in the Zen Garden.
Meraki Festival is all about community and offers something for everyone – take your kids in the morning to hula hoop their hearts out, meet a friend for a healthy lunch, or lay on the grass while listening to some live tunes in the arvo. With kids and adults being encouraged to get crafty with Kikki.K stalls, check out Lululemon activewear and what Sukha Life is all about. You can also find out more about wellness from qualified natropaths.
There will be a chance for you to try your luck at Aerial Yoga as well as Pilates, HIIT and Barre, while all round fitness guru Cherida Forde will be hosting some of the main events. The festival is all about wellness, health, happiness and mindfulness - so if you're looking to replenish, rest and relax, Meraki Festival is for you!
If you're into something a bit more upbeat, the awesome trainers at the new F45 Unley are holding some group sessions on the day for you to work up a sweat and appetite – so later you can devour some goodies from the Nutrition Republic stall!
Helen Schubert, Owner of F45 Unley and Brighton had this to say about why she loves F45 and what Unley offers: "it's the best high-intensity program that sees results fast and is super time efficient. Every single session offers something different and is always good fun, especially on Saturday's with our DJ".
The Meraki Festival will be held from 8am til 4pm on Sunday February 26 at Soliders Memorial Gardens on the corner of Unley Road and Thomas Street. For more information about the festival check out the Meraki Festival's fringe link, Facebook and Instagram.
