As part of their national 'DIYS' single tour, last Saturday arvo at the Ex Horror my Friend fans were treated to an absolute pearler of a gig. Both Hyder Seek and Sleep Talk absolutely nailed their sets, playing with conviction and energy to match the main act. We loved Hyder Seek's honest songs and Sleep Talk's frenzied passion. Horror My Friend's set was a combination of many of the highlight's from their critically acclaimed 'Stay in, Do Nothing' album of last year. The Poison City Record signee's smashed through each song with every head in the audience fixated on the trio.
The sheer number of brilliant tunes these guys have accrued is a testament to their talent. With each new song we found ourselves smiling from the first second, with 'Death Hill', 'Mazes' and 'Same Minds', the list goes on and on. The new track 'DIY's' was very well received too, after this taste we're so bloody keen for more new music.
Ending on the Epic 'PB Remains' (with guest vocals from Sleep Talk's Jacob Clement), Tom Gordon waltzed into the crowd, finishing what was a hugely satisfying gig all around.
