If you think a night of local art, top-notch gin and primo craft beer sounds like the stuff that dreams are made of, you’d be right. Making dreams become reality this December, The Howling Owl and Urban Cow Studio are teaming up in the best way that neighbours know how – with an epic night of celebrations.
Surrounded by stellar wine and produce regions, and absolutely teeming with creative talent, Adelaide is a mecca of quality goodies of foodie and artistic persuasions. Making the most of everything that our great state has to offer, the Cinema Place residents are bringing together loads of South Australian makers for a massive Friday of gin stalls, artist demonstrations, workshops, craft beer tastings and, of course, lip-smacking food offerings.
Venue owner, Mick Kreig, says, “It’s about promoting SA makers in the arts, food and beverage sections”.
“It’s a Christmas party and a chance to re-establish [that] we are still open! It’s been a tough year with the closure of all three venues, but we are happy to call Cinema Place home and want to share it with everyone,” he continues.
The cross-venue Meet The Maker soiree will see artist workshops and demos from 5pm til 9pm at Urban Cow. Just in time for the gifting season, contemporary artist, Jessamy Pollock will run a jewellery-making workshop at 9pm to help you hand craft the perfect gift or just treat yo’self this Christmas. Watch on in awe as local talents expertly navigate their respective crafts. From glass bowing to illustration and water colours, enjoy artistic inspiration en masse on the East End this December.
Fuel your creative fervour and head next door to The Howling Owl for delish eats and quality slurps from some of South Australia’s best. Chow down on Australia’s Best Voted Juan’s Paella Catering or nibble on Gin Cured Salmon by Never Never Distilling Co. and Gin and Cheese tastings from Settlers Spirits. Wash it all down with sips by Lyrebird Distilling Company and The Howling Owl’s own legendary gin tasting boards.
To top it all off, this Friday will see special prizes and 15% off all Urban Cow Studio purchases as well as enticing Happy Hour specials and a not-to-be-missed Gin Product Launch.
For a very merry Christmas indeed, Urban Cow will be running a toy drive for The Welcome Centre as well as accepting donation on the night. So, get out and spread festive cheer in the best way Adelaide knows how, by lapping up quality SA goods, eats, treats and brews on the East End this Friday.
