The Bands On Track initiative have just announced a HUGE opportunity for six South Australian bands to get the chance to play with Cold Chisel, +LIVE+, Robbie Williams and more on stage at Adelaide 500's 20th anniversary! Bands On Track has given many SA artists the chance to perform with some of the world's greatest acts and has given them a kickstart into the music industry to help them get the recognition that they deserve.
If you're not familiar with the competition, then here are some SA names that you will recognise that have previously won: The Beards, Grenadiers, Horror My Friend, Wanderers, Koral & The Goodbye Horses and rock legends Bad//Dreems.
The Friday night of the Adelaide 500 will see Cold Chisel returning for the second time, and they have also invited their friend Kasey Chambers to join them. Bad//Dreems, who won the Bands On Track competition back in 2014, will also be performing Friday night and has been claimed as one of the must-see acts of the night. +LIVE+ will be performing the Saturday night with their original line-up, and then Sunday night will be set with UK Superstar Robbie Williams playing the headline concert at the 2018 after race concert series.
"Coincidentally it is also Music SA's 20th birthday and over the years the Bands On Track initiative has been a special partnership. This is a great opportunity for local artists to perform on such a large stage and thanks to the Adelaide 500 this tradition can continue." - Music SA's General Manager Lisa Bishop
The 2018 competition opened on the 1st of December and will close on the 15th, so if you're in a band or know a band that would love this opportunity, then head on over to the Bands On Track website to apply!
