Arguably Adelaide’s most unique and vibrant Mad March event, The Garden of Unearthly Delights returns in 2018 with a program jam-packed with theatre, dance, comedy, live music and family-friendly events. With over 750,000 visitors passing through the outdoor carnival’s gates each year, The Garden of Unearthly Delights is one of the most highly anticipated events of the Adelaide Fringe Festival.
Some of the highlights of the 2018 theatre program include the BAFTA winning, hit stage comedy Fleabag, which follows a hilarious, true story of “some sort of a female living her sort of life.” Another anticipated theatre show includes Séance, which thrillingly takes place inside a shipping container in complete darkness.
The Garden once again will host an array of the world’s most hilarious stand-up comedians, including Australia’s own Dave Hughes, Cal Wilson, Tom Gleeson, Joel Creasey, Nazeem Hussain, and so much more! The hilarious Puppetry of the Penis returns in 2018 and so does the Best of the Edinburgh Fest – featuring up-and-coming comedians handpicked from the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
The 2018 program also presents a spectacular music line-up with a bunch of must-see local acts. Adelaide’s own blues/rock inspired singer-songwriter, Timberwolf will take to the stage in celebration of his recently released debut album, Íkaros. Adelaide-born singing sensation Carla Lippis is also one not to be missed, with Edinburgh Festivals Magazine describing her live show as “something straight out of a Tarantino film.”
There’s something for everyone at The Garden with carnival rides, market stalls, bars, so much delicious food and you might even catch some exciting sideshow surprises. Explore for yourself and check out the full program here.
