In December, an array of Christmas Markets will pop up all around town, giving you the opportunity to find that perfect gift and support local makers at the same time. RADL have you covered this Christmas, with our guide to some of the best markets around Adelaide:
The Giant Twilight Christmas Market
These aptly titled markets are, according to organisers, “the biggest twilight markets in Adelaide”, so you’ll be sure to find all the goodies your heart desires. The market will showcase handmade wares and art by local creatives, as well as vintage and collectable goods. Your taste buds will be satisfied too, with a variety of food trucks and even a bar at the event. As an added incentive to get in early, the first 200 market goers will receive a free market bag.
When: Saturday 2nd December 11 am – 9 pm, Sunday 3rd December 11 am – 8 pm.
Where: City East Markets, 230 Flinders St
The Gilles Street Grand Bazaar
One of the most anticipated Gilles Street Market events of the year, this is an outing that will fulfil all of your festive needs. Boasting 170 stall holders and exhibiters, at this outdoor event you’ll find a plethora of unique pressies for your loved ones, as well as a variety of workshops (anyone for illustrating your own Christmas cards or making a terrarium?) Clearly, there will be no shortage of Christmas cheer at the bazaar; you’ll even be able to buy a real Christmas tree from The Christmas Tree Plantation. You’ll also be able to catch DJ Paul Gurry spinning the tunes inside and live musicians performing outside.

Where: Gilles St Market, 91 Gilles St Adelaide
Twilight Etsy Christmas Market
Hosted by The Spire Community and Etsy Adelaide, this new market is the perfect way to support local creatives while enjoying a beautiful outing suitable for the whole family. Each vendor has been carefully selected to create a beautifully curated market of Etsy sellers. The event also promises an assortment of multicultural food and live music, be sure to check it out!

Christmas Market at The Market Shed
Celebrate Christmas, Market Shed style. You can expect many of the regular (and delicious) food stalls and talented live musicians, but on top of that you’ll find a variety of local Adelaide makers offering special handmade gifts. This is another family friendly event – there’ll be face painting available for kids and Massey Wines on offer for the rest of us.

Where: The Market Shed on Holland, 1 Holland Street
A must-go for anyone who wants to experience a magical, European-style market right in our backyard. The Hahndorf Christkindlmarkt is a whole sensory experience – your shopping needs will certainly be met, but there will also be Christmas lights on show, delectable food and even nightly carols at 9.15 pm.
