The annual Harvest Festival is back on Saturday the 14th of January to showcase the best of McLaren Vale's produce. Just one gold coin donation will gain you entry into McLaren Vale Oval which will host a plethora of the region’s finest wine, gourmet food, music and art.
A range of cooking classes are being held for those wishing to hone their culinary skills with some of McLaren Vale’s top chefs, including MasterChef’s 2014 runner up Laura Cassai. In addition to these classes, there will also be tastings and demonstrations of wine, cheese, olive oil and beer sensory classes, all of which can be booked here.
Activities include ‘Celebrity Wine Spitting’, ‘Celebrity Bottling’, dance shows and belly dancing.
If you have time, ensure you stop by the Harvest Festival Art Exhibition which will be running until the 5th of February at the Stump Hill Gallery which focuses on the process of harvest and celebrates the fruits of labour.
The event is family friendly, with the Bendigo Bank Kid’s Zone there to entertain any of your younger counterparts for the afternoon whilst you enjoy the tantalising treats on offer. This includes a climbing wall, petting zoo, pony rides, giant slide for the littlies, or for those embracing their inner child. The folks from Circus Elements will also be giving demonstrations and workshops on plate spinning, juggling, uni-cycling and stilt walking throughout the day.
