Big Window are set to get Hindley Street bouncing tonight as they launch their spanking new Saturdays, aptly named Miss Jackson. Run by the brainchild of Fat Controller’s All You Can Eat, Michael Zabalocki, Miss Jackson is for real as she invites you to take over Big Window each and every Saturday night from January 14th.
“The aim is to lean a bit left of centre to other hip hop and RnB clubs in the scene.” Expect contemporary retro spin on all your classic old school hip hop and RnB beats as the club’s resident DJs Shi’Lo, Fraggers, Zabba, H.AllGood, Mariah Scary and Indiana Cones hit the decks.
We know you’ll be getting down with mixes set to include the hits of iconic names such as OutKast, Salt-n-Pepa, A$AP Rocky, Biggie Smalls and many more. Drink specials are also a plenty, including $5 vodka Kool Aids, $5 Sparkke beer and $5 bubbly. Despite the array of hip hop spots making an appearance on the Adelaide scene in recent years, with Big Window’s enticing trinity of aesthetic, beats and drinks there’s no place we’d rather boogie.
Launch night itself will see doors open to Adelaide’s RnB enthusiasts from 10PM and with a capacity of only 100, you’ll want to get in quick. Expect family style vibes – minus your prying aunt - thanks to the relatively small crowds. The tight packed venue once again sets this pocket of the Adelaide hip hop scene apart from its super club counterparts.
Head out to Big Window for a new spin on an old favourite with Miss Jackson. For more details and to keep up with the venue’s latest happenings find them on Facebook and Instagram at @bigwindowclub as well as @missjacksonclub.
