Although it's a little hard to tell with Adelaide's ever fluctuating weather forecast, it's actually summer. There are many things we like to associate with summer; from the good (beaches, ice-cream and no uni), the bad (flies, hot steering wheels, breaking your thongs) and the ugly (sweating 0.5 seconds after leaving any blissfully air-conditioned zone).
But one thing that's fairly consistent Australia-wide is the plethora of music festivals - from Falls to Splendour, the widespread attendance and coveted musical performances.
Introducing the new Summer Vibes Music Festival this January.
Proclaimed as a "boutique" music festival, Summer Vibes celebrates homegrown Australian talent, spotlighting the performances of much-loved Australian DJs. This first Summer Vibes lineup includes bands such as Throttle, Indian Summer, as well asL
The Potbelleez (DJs)
Emerging back in 2007, the band's breakthrough track went triple platinum, gaining nationwide attention. Following up with certified hits including "Hello" and "Are You With Me", The Potbellez are are now featuring their bangers at Summer Vibes.
"Defined not by a sound, but more so a feeling, Poolclvb culminates the fruits of chill and house with a distinct edge." Fresh from his Aria Club Chart toppers original jams "Here You're Mine" and "Move Me", and extensive triplej specialist radio play, Poolclvb brings his electronic dance tunes to Adelaide.
With his electronic offerings, Sydney DJ Tenzin boasts a "ferocious blend of house, electro, and self-commanding party-dub." Playing at Australia's biggest musical festivals and supporting artists such as Calvin Harris, Swedish House Mafia and Steve Aoki, Tenzin's original tracks and remixes are a blast.
Two years ago, Zac Waters found his calling in creating electronic dance music. Since then, Zac has made noticable global waves with his stunning plethora of original and remixes. He has created a mash-up genre called 'meltrance', incorporating elements of the globally recognised Melbourne bounce sound and trance music.
Generik embodies the fresh-faced spirit of EDM. Plucked from the backroom club parties of Australia by Calvin Harris after being discovered by the icon at Stereosonic festival in 2013, Generik has since sweated it out on stages across the globe and has been championed by the likes of Diplo and Skrillex for his party-starting ways.
