Good news, kids: The Porch Sessions are returning to Adelaide for their fourth season of summer 16/17.
The brainchild of Adeladian, Sharni Honor, the Porch Sessions is a travelling series across Adelaide suburbia, where lovers of Sunday vibes invite the Porch crew over to transform their backyards into a musical oasis, of food, wine, fairy-lights, Persian rugs, and music.
The Porch Sessions aims to expose interstate headline acts to the beauty of South Australia, not only the music, the local delicacies, and the local businesses, but also the local crowds, who always love to listen to the stories behind the songs, and the wisdom of the artists. The intimacy of the environment, and the relationship between the artists and the audiences, forms a truly unique experience.
This coming November, after 3 sold out seasons seeing the best in upcoming local, national, and international music, collaborating with Adelaide's best businesses, and scouting a smorgasbord of exotic gardens, the team are back, and ready to create a summertime fiesta.
The first show (out of a forecasted 8), is to take place on November 27th, with an international headline, one interstate support, and one local support, in the most idyllic garden in Hawthorne. Tickets and the show's line up will be released Monday, September 26, at 6pm.
Have we piqued your interest? Here's a little sneak peak of the lineup:
SON LITTLE (USA): Off the back of a successful North American tour and a run of shows supporting Leon Bridges, Son Little will be performing in support of the 2015 release of his self-titled debut album. The record is quintessentially American, described by Rhythms Magazine as, "a striking gust of fresh air with one foot in the past, the other striding bravely into the future". Son Little will also be appearing at Queenscliff Music Festival, Fairgrounds & Disconnect.
+ EMILEE SOUTH (VIC) & AIDAN JAZZY JONES (SA)
This year, The Porch Sessions will be offering a Porchling Season Pass available for the most devoted of Porch-goers. The team will bring a guaranteed, season-long access to Porchville, a fully transferrable pass to 8 porch shows. They'll only be releasing a limited amount of these passes, so tell your friends, and get in quick!
But don't worry if you miss out - the Porch Sessions are available in various concepts year-round. Catch the dreamy winter Cellar Door Cessions, The Tram Sessions hosted in the Adelaide Trams, and Porchland, the annual Porch Sessions festival taking place in the surrounds of the city.
