Here at RADL we’re all for happy occasions, equal rights, love, and having a darn good time. We believe love is love and many others tend to agree. The LGBTIQ+ community have had growing support over the last decade, and it’s easy to see why creator Sam Meathrel found it necessary to start up Her Bride His Groom. The online wedding directory is the first of its kind in Australia; a unique national service that encompasses love in all its glory, while collaborating with suppliers that support equal marriage rights for all couples of any sexuality.
We were lucky enough to experience this unique and happy event on the Her Bride His Groom launch night last week. It was a booming success set in the elegant Freemasons Hall on North Terrace, beautifully decorated with the Aeon Collective Flower Wall and Her Bride His Groom branded silk drapes over the pillars. A gorgeous cake tier and cupcakes by Heidelberg Cakes stood in front of the iconic staircase, while videos of their launch photo-shoot played on the screens and set the scene for a nuptial event like no other.
Creator Sam Meathrel had envisioned the company because he saw a gap in the massive Australian wedding industry for same sex couples, taking a leap into the ever-growing market. This guy is so good and passionate about what he does, I’m sure some hetero couples will be after him as well! While same sex marriage is not yet legalised in Australia, many couples engage in commitment ceremonies or have been legally recognised as married overseas but want to have ceremonies and parties here.
“There’s nothing more rewarding than guiding couples through the entire planning process to result in one of the happiest days of their lives.”
Engaged same sex couples in Australia would find it hard to plan their wedding day solo as there is still a nation divided – and may find out what suppliers are or aren’t supportive of their sexuality the hard way. Her Bride His Groom make the process of planning your special day a whole lot easier and happier! They help same sex couples experience everything that hetero couples experience when planning a wedding; acceptance, equality, joy and love from everyone they encounter in a judgement-free environment.
Her Bride His Groom has everything ready for you to make the process as easy and fun as possible, from the rings to the honeymoon, the cake to the outfits, the venue to the cars... they got you covered!
For all your same sex wedding needs, please go to the Her Bride His Groom website and check them out on Facebook and Instagram for some major wedding-envy. We’d like to thank Sam Meathrel, the lovely couples and Girl About Town for hosting a fabulous event in a fantastic setting.
