The Adelaide Hills are renowned for their wine region - not only their viticulture and scenery, but their premium selection of reds and whites to suit the palate of any wine-lover. This July, The Winter Reds Weekend returns to honour our well-loved Adelaide culture of wining, and dining.
The Winter Reds paints an enticing picture:
"Shrug off your jacket. Shake your scarf free. Close the door against the icy wind. There's a log fire crackling, and your face starts glowing. You pour a warming glass of red, and take in the alluring aroma of a slowly cooked braise. Settle in to a cosy leather chair, with a dog curled up at your feet ... perfection!"
This year, over 30 wineries are hosting events. With an extensive range of lunches, dinners, and wine-tastings available to attend, each event is a perfect celebration of Adelaide food and wine against the wintery backdrop of the beautiful hills.
You can even make a weekend of it, and a stay a night or two. Winter Reds has partnered with several accomodations specially for the occasion, all of which are conveniently located in and around the foothills of Adelaide, Mount Lofty, Hahndorf and Lobethal. You can book a bus or driver for the day, to take you to and from your hotel to your destination.
The Winter Reds has free general entry, with most events being priced accordingly. Bookings are essential, so check out the event planner to make sure you get a spot at your desired event!
