It was Karl Lagerfeld who summed it up nicely when he famously quoted ‘one is never over-dressed or under-dressed in a little black dress’ and this month The Australian Fashion Industry is coming together to celebrate this faithful and timeless garment.
The black dress is known as the fundamental must-have for every woman’s wardrobe and a merciful go-to for those dreaded ‘I have nothing to wear’ moments. Set to be held on Wednesday 22nd June at the Mercedes Benz Adelaide showroom, ‘The Black Dress’ fashion event alludes to this season’s standout event in fashion and will be an ode to an eternal concept in fashion design.
Filip Odzak, the renowned fashion personality and DJ, is the creator of ‘The Black Dress,’ and the event follows on from the success of last year’s ‘The Red Dress’ event. Odzak says he looks forward to presenting his vision at the event venue.
“We are presenting an elegant evening of decadence, fashion and beauty housed in the presence of fashion’s greatest ally, the Mercedes Benz Adelaide Showroom,” he says.
With hand-picked selections from more than 50 renowned Australian designers, guests will be treated to a highly unique runway experience. Of course, no Adelaide fashion event is complete without the presence of models from Adelaide’s leading talent agency, Finesse Models Australia, who will be exhibiting the designs.
Hayley Pearson of Adelady and Lauren DeCasere, who is closely linked with the Leukemia Foundation, will both be hosting the event, and there will be plenty of Adelaide professionals backstage, making sure that it is an evening of fashion not to be missed.
“This exciting evening of collaboration is already proving to be popular with extra tickets having just been released to keep up with demand.’ Says Odzak ‘be sure to secure your spot!’
Apart from being able to marvel at the many interpretations of ‘the black dress’ concept, guests will also enjoy a wine experience with Finniss River Estate’s latest designer wine collection on the evening.
So if you’re a bit of a fashion nut, or if you’ve ever faithfully relied upon such a garment, come and pay homage to ‘the black dress.’
