When the majority of the world thinks of Christmas, they associate it with hot chocolate, hot fires and a winter wonderland. Here in Australia, we associate Christmas with an excuse to eat way too much pavlova, breaking your thongs and using a fan as a Christmas tree. Slightly less romantic, but in Australia, we do our best.
This year, the dream team behind The Royal Croquet Club, Crabshack, Little Miss Miami and Mexico have given us the July answer to Mad March festival: The Alpine Winter Village.
The Alpine Winter Village is a culturally-themed hub of entertainment, food, drinks, music, and activities. The Village is being held along the Torrens Riverbank, including an ice rink, apres ski lodge, and an Australian version of the traditional European Christmas markets.
Our favourite spots to get tipsy in the region that keeps on giving, where to rest your weary eyes after a day of indulging, and of course, where to get a good cuppa joe.
