Winter is almost in full swing, with the next few months set to bring us early sunsets and dark, gloomy mornings. While this may be enough to get you down and desperately begging for summer, what better way to cheer yourself up than by going to a damn fine wine festival in McLaren Vale across four massive days? That's right, the McLaren Vale Seas & Vine Festival is almost here, taking place over the Queen's Birthday long weekend from Friday June 10 to Monday June 13.
Founded in 1992, the festival celebrates the culinary and winemaking traditions of the McLaren Vale region with a huge variety events at over 25 wineries. With events spanning from stunning, intimate dinners with winemakers to winery tours, masterclasses, markets and live music, there isn't the slightest chance you'll run out of things to do.
Events at the Sea & Vines Festival are divided into three categories: Relish, Sunday Experience and Monday Zest. Relish events are special ticketed occassions on any day between Friday and Monday, hosted around well-known venues around McLaren Vale. Sunday Experience events are a special type of winery tour where you can choose which locations, from an option of nine different venues, to visit across the day. Monday Zest events are more relaxed and family oriented, which will feature petting zoos and bouncy castles on the day!
Some of the amazing Relish events on offer include a Medieval Feast at Penny's Hill, James Morrison performing live at Maxwell Wines, Market Kitchen Table at Willunga Farmers Market and a Wine Masterclass at d'Arenberg. Meanwhile, wineries such as Bent Creek, Coriole, De Lisio wines and Fox Creek Wines will be visitable for Sunday Experience sessions as well as Monday Zest events. This is sure to be a fantastic winter delight no matter what.
All tickets can be purchased via Oztix, make sure you hurry before they're all gone!
