It is nearly Fringe time, where the streets of Adelaide are bubbling and thriving with arts, comedy, culture and of course, music! Frusic is an initiative brought to you by the Adelaide Fringe and Music SA which showcases all the exciting music events happening during the Fringe.  Below are just some of the gigs we are excited about, but make sure to check out the full guide for more amazing acts!

KATE MILLER-HEIDKE

Award-winning alternative pop singer-songwriter, Kate Miller-Heidke is returning to Adelaide after the success of her independent album, O, Vertigo! Miller-Heidke has spent some time working on new music and is sure to impress the Adelaide crowd with her amazing vocals.

GRACE: THE SOUNDS OF JEFF BUCKLEY

Local artist, Louis Donnarumma is putting on an exciting and memorable tribute show to Jeff Buckley.  Donnarumma will put on a show combined of Buckley’s compositions, his influences and covers.  Donnarumma is one of Adelaide’s up-and-coming artists and will perform his tribute on across two venues on three different nights, so there is no excuse to miss this!

RAW SUGAR

Brisbane band, Raw Sugar, are bringing their alternative and electronic based music to Adelaide for the first time!  The band joined after an assessment piece whilst studying Music at Queensland University of Technology in 2015.   They will be joined by local musos, Ollie English and Delia Obst.

DAVE SATTOUT

Sydney based, singer-songwriter, Dave Sattout is bringing his entertaining show to Adelaide ahead of the release of his second album in 2016.  Drawing on inspiration from artists such as Beck, Tom Waits and Paul Kelly, Sattout has filled out shows across Australia, Europe and Asia.

DEVILS CROSSROAD

Devils Crossroad will be celebrating the release of their long awaited EP ‘Gypsy Kings’ and showcasing their unique style of psychedelic, indie punk rock.  You’ll not only get to see an awesome support act from Attonbitus, every person who comes to the show gets a free EP!

PIERCE BROTHERS

The Pierce Brothers had a stellar 2015, with their EP Into The Dirt debuted in the top 10 of the ARIA charts and toured not only nationally, but across Europe, supporting the likes of The Cat Empire.  The brothers are set to do a run of festival shows through 2016 and are making an appearance at the Garden to give us little ol’ folk another taste of their brilliant live show.

THE SKELETON CLUB PRESENTS: FREAK YOU. THE BEST OF 90'S RNB

Local lads, The Skeleton Club will be bringing a twist on the 90s RNB that you know and love and smothering it with five-part harmonies and roots musicianship.  They will be covering the likes of Boys II Men, Backstreet Boys, All 4 One, and all the rest of the best of 90s RNB.

TRIP FEST

As you can probably tell from the title, this one is a psychedelic/stoner music festival showing off some of Adelaide’s amazing psychedelic bands.  With a line-up of The Dunes, Velvet Moth, St. Morris Sinners and Sons of Zoku, this sure is going to be a good one!

GERMEIN SISTERS

Adelaide’s indie pop group, Germein Sisters, have been making waves overseas by grabbing the attention of an Irish producer, performed at the Isle of Wight Festival (UK), Women of the World Festival (Germany) and joined up with a Swiss artist for their entry into the Eurovision Song Contest for 2016.  The group have been compared to the likes of Haim and The Corrs and are excited to bring their live show back to Adelaide.

THE AUDREYS

Multiple ARIA award winners, The Audreys will be bringing their live show to Adelaide after receiving positive reviews from their ‘Til My Tears Roll Away’ record in 2014.  With reviews from Rolling Stone calling the album, ‘a record of abandon of grace,’ you can expect an amazing live show from the award winning band.
