Rain Rain Go Away, We've Got Beer & Bubbles To Drink

Not even the wild weather could stop revellers at this year’s Beer & Bubbles with throngs packing Vardon Lane on Saturday 12th November.

The now annual Beer & Bubbles aims to serve up some of Australia’s best craft beer (and sparkling wine) without all the snobbery that sometimes makes it inaccessible.

This year saw the guys over at East End Cellars bring together some 50 producers, offering up tastings of both their seasonal releases and core ranges. ‘A tonne of hard work goes into organising this event so everyone’s super stoked about the turnout - especially with all this rain,’ said manager Giles Fulton.

Beer was a celebration of all things local, ranging from Colonial Brewing (Margaret River) to local legend’s Big Shed. Personal favourites included Hawkers Saison (Melbourne) and Mismatch Extra Pale Ale.

Not to be outdone, the bubbles (with a champagne-centric focus) featured Pol Roger, Jose Dhont & Michel Genet. One of the the local producers, Simon Greenleaf, was even on hand to show punters how his Methode Traditionelle sparkling gets made.

To soak up all that booze and keep the party going was food from the likes of NOLA, Sukhumvit Soi 38 and Mothervine. A special shout out to new kids on the block Iberia, a Spanish style restaurant/bar opening on Rundle St next month, who pumped out some damn tasty snacks.
