One of Adelaide's leading couture fashion designers, Cristina Tridente of Couture+Love+Madness, is making waves on the international fashion circuit. With a distinct aesthetic featuring exotic silks, intricate hand beading and sleek silhouettes, the labels recent success comes as no real surprise.
25-year-old Tridente was invited to officially open the 2015 Qingdao International Fashion Festival, now running into its 15th year. Besides opening the festival and showcasing alongside three well-known Chinese fashion designers at the Qingdao Exhibition Centre, Tridente is also the first Australian designer to ever have been asked to showcase at the five day international fashion festival.
Monday April 27 saw Couture+Love+Madness hit the runway a second time to open day 4 of the festival at The Lalu, Qingdao; a six star luxury resort overlooking the city's coast. Tridente showcased her latest couture collection fittingly entitled Silk Road; a collection that takes inspiration from oriental Asia while modernising it with vibrant colours, luxe fabrics and innovative yet sleek architectural design. Tridente also showcased her SS14 collection entitled The Bold & The Beautiful which is a mix of bold colour and florals in silks and Australian Wools.
"It was such an exciting opportunity to showcase amongst so many talented Chinese designers, the calibre of fashion and design in China is astounding," says Tridente.
"The reviews from both shows have been overwhelmingly positive and I look forward to continuing my relationship with Qingdao and showing at next year's Fashion Festival."
