Music, coffee, lazy feels and sunshine- these are the ingredients that make up a delicious Sunday! They are also just some of the elements you will find at the Sunday Vibes at Elder Park sessions over the coming weeks. Using the grassy delights of Elder Park’s riverbank and the quirky cover of the iconic rotunda, Renewal Adelaide has turned this picturesque Adelaide spot into a venue for family-friendly music sessions from 12pm- 4pm over the next few Sundays.
A taste of what’s to come, the sessions kicked off yesterday 29th March with emerging local musicians projecting their sounds to a relaxed audience on deck chairs and picnic blankets.
By 2pm, it was SA band Conchillia filling the scene with their vibrant ukulele-infused sounds. In her red dress and gorgeous signature headpiece, front woman Jes D’Cruz brought a new element of colour and aura to the already spectacular backdrop made up of the Adelaide Oval Stadium and the pastel paddleboats on the river. A band of bitter-sweet melodies, brass-filled instrumentals and enticing vocals, Conchillia created the perfect blend of caberet and colour, complimenting one of Adelaide’s most visually pleasing inner-city scenes.
Surrounded by coffee and food vans, fellow vibe-seekers on picnic blankets and the occasional brace of waddling ducks, Sunday Vibes at Elder Park ticks all the boxes (and then some) for your perfect Sunday session.
