South Australia is proving itself to be the new breeding grounds for emerging breweries. It's rapidly expanding brewery sector including local favourites BrewBoys, Steam Exchange, McLaren Vale Beer Company and more will now have a new addition to the family. The wait is over: SA, meet your new-brew best friend: Big Shed Brewing Co.
Big Shed Brewing Co was founded in 2002 by home brewers and IT professionals, Jason Harris and Craig Basford.
It all began in Jason's shed in his rental home, located in the Barossa Valley. Over the next ten years, Jason and Craig's dream was born, moving their work to a bigger shed (and by shed we mean industrial warehouse). With a shared love of crafty beers, and the know-how of brewing and providing exciting lagers to Aussie beer-drinkers, Big Shed beers are now only a month away from hitting the shelves.
"We will help grow craft beer by helping those who like us stand against all that is blank in mass marketed beer" - BSBC.
Jason and Craig also aimed to create beers that work well with food, and other beers are inspired by different ingredients that compliment each other, and are hoping to team up with local food trucks, as well as creating a cellar door to accompany the brewery.
BSBC is located in Royal Park in Adelaide's west, close to the newly expanding foodie destination Semaphore Road.
“We want to bring new experiences to the local community and we think we can broaden that market by bringing beer and food together,” noted Jason, via Australian Brew News.
This innovative pair will be making a huge impact on the local market, so keep an eye out and support local greatness!
