Coffee. It’s like a hug in a cup. It’s there for you when you’re tired or stressed out and picks you up when you’re down. Safe to say coffee is the life blood for a lot of us. Here in Adelaide we really do know a good cup of coffee, and we’re #blessed with many awesome places to enjoy it. So if you, like me, are a coffee lover through and through, put the 22nd of February in your diary and head to the Double Shot Coffee Fiesta.
The brain child festival of Unley Council and Fringe Director Greg Clarke is everything all you coffee-lovers you could want on a Sunday. Enjoy free coffee tastings from all the friends - Bar 9, Cibo, Nutrition Republic, Bracegirdle’s and many more. Stroll around with a flat white or two, or go all out tasting the offerings from all of them. Beware of caffeine overdose. Or Don't. yolo.
After your cappuccino, there’s a beer garden in which you can enjoy the party animal cousin of coffee, the Espresso Martini (as well as some great wines, beers and ciders). It’s possibly one of Adelaide’s favorite cocktails, so where else to have one than a specialised coffee festival?
Enjoy some fun live entertainment over a latte or 3, including Soul Macumbia and Latino Groove Dancers. If the coffee doesn’t perk you up (which it most definitely will), they are sure to get you going. Hungry? Of course you are. Pair your coffee with some delicious baked goods from Red Door Bakery, or there’s the no-brainer of a Burger Theory burger. Just a couple of ideas…
If you’re a coffee connoisseur you can compare blends and beans with like-minded folks. Or, if you’re like me and just really really love coffee but can’t tell the difference between single or double or triple origin (if they even exist), you can take the opportunity to learn at the many stalls that would love to teach you.
The Double Shot Coffee Fiesta is from 10am-4pm on the 22nd of February at the Soliders Memorial Garden on Unley Road. Get it.
