Beer and streetwear are usually two industries that don’t mix with each other. Until now. Killer local brewers Pirate Life and streetwear legends Average Cat have teamed up to release their first collaboration capsule collection.
Upon first mention, beer and clothing have next to nothing in common. Though speak to Average Cat owner and head designer Van Vlassis, and it is clear there are plenty of ideas to explore.
“Designing a clothing garment and crafting a beer is all about the small details,” he says. “Without an eye for small details throughout the process, you can’t succeed.”
Aiming to create a collection which emphasizes the strong visual elements of both brands, the garments ooze cool, without making you feel like a walking billboard.
Pirate Life Brewery have come a long way to where they are now at their home on South Road and Average Cat have come a long way from Van’s parents’ shed. These journeys are really emphasized through the collection, with the Pirate Life brewing processes a major source of inspiration.
The collection is strictly limited and both parties are more than happy to keep it that way. “It is all about getting it right and creating a collection of garments which are of the absolute highest quality,” Van says emphatically.
So for all those hard to buy for friends/family members/partners this collection is for you. Strictly limited, filled with quality while remaining uniquely South Australian.
It is really, well, heaps good.
