With the Adelaide Fashion Festival only a week away, (kicking off next Thursday the 22nd October), now is your last chance to grab tickets to the array of events on offer. Since the program launched a couple of months ago, we have seen the addition of more events including parades, markets and workshops, creating quite the jam-packed week of fashion! There's a lot to see and do throughout the festival, so we thought we'd pick out the best events we're looking forward to checking out. We'll see you there!
1 - Ready To Wear - Oct 22
The fashion show/wine lunch will present Adelaide's premier ready-to-wear designers, in particular some names who have only been on the scene a short time, but have already had global reach with their labels. Set in the super cool venue of the Published Art-house, we're excited to see the debut of SIG The Label, as well as 2014 AFF winner of the Designer Showcase, Simmone Standing, fresh from a stint in NYFW.
2 - Fashion Insiders Breakfast - Oct 23
What better way to enjoy brunch than by listening to a group of influential women talk all things fashion. Hosted by Channel 10's Rebecca Morse at the popular Jamie's Italian, the breakfast event will include a panel discussion with stylist and ELLE fashion director Nicole Bonthyon Hines, as well as Tania deBono, who is one of the most influential names in social media branding today (check her out on Instagram here and here. You can have your coffee, and learn something too.
3 - Designer Market - Sat 24
Safe to say seeing all the fashion will put you in a serious mood to shop, so the free designer market in Hindmarsh Square will let you let out that built up tension on some of Adelaide's best local designers.
4 - ANOF - Sat 24
A Night of Fashion at the Art Gallery has to be one of not just the Fashion Festival's, but Adelaide's best events of the year. The sell-out event is returning for its fourth year, and this year will present a lineup of some of Australia's best designers including Carla Zampatti, Acler and TYLR. If you haven't been before, this is your year. It's a mega runway of 80 metres, spanning through 4 spectacular galleries at the Art Gallery of South Australia. Before and after the show you'll enjoy cocktails from one of Adelaide's best bars, The Collins Bar, as well as great food, art and entertainment. You don't want to miss it. Plus, male models.
5 - Paolo Sebastian - Sun 25
It's hard to explain the significance of Paolo Sebastian. The Adelaide designer's custom gowns are worn around the world, from Adelaide brides, to celebrities on the Oscars red carpet. As one of Australia's leaders in Couture fashion, Paolo's event (to which he had to add a second show due to popular demand), will present his 2016 Autumn/Winter Collection not just to the good people of Radelaide, but the world of fashion. If you can somehow manage a ticket, we highly recommend!
