Bringing style to Adelaide each spring, the Adelaide Fashion Festival is nationally recognised by industry insiders as South Australia’s premier fashion showcase event. Heading into its seventh year, the Adelaide Fashion Festival is an iconic annual event, showcasing South Australia’s dynamic and innovative fashion industry.
Hosted by the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters and The Parade, Norwood, the 2014 Adelaide Fashion Festival will be held over an exciting nine day program, from 17 –26 October 2014.
This year, the AFF program is jam packed, full of fashion spectacles and featuring an outstanding line up of talent and events. The festival kicks off with Variety on King William, an alfresco style dining experience, matched with SA wines and a spectacle of fashion. King William road is transformed into one of the longest runways SA has seen, showcasing summer fashion trends from retailers along the shopping strip.
Tickets: $140 with proceeds going to Variety SA - the children's charity.
Day 2 of AFF see's one of Australia's most iconic designers getting up close and personal with aspiring designers thanks to MYER, as Wayne Cooper puts on a design workshop. Held at the Myer Centre, this free event will give you exclusive access to Cooper and all of his design tips and tricks!
Later on in the evening, it is time to witness some of SA's best designers showcase their collections at an event held at the Adelaide Gaol. The SA Designer Showcase will unveil the latest collections from South Australia’s leading designers, featuring ready-to-wear from Orbin Colelctive, Georgia Guy, GretaKate, casper&pearl, Chelsea Eve, Designer Duchess, Namoi, Necia, Liza Emanuele, and Couture from labels Malachi Empire, couture+love+madness and Jaimie Sortino.

Day 3: Head down to the Norwood Concert Hall to grab yourself a bargain from Adelaide's local designers and boutiques at the SA Collective Clothing Sale (free), or go 'Behind the Seams' at Rundle Mall's Hotel Richmond to gain insight into different areas of the fashion industry. Key guest speakers include: Paul Vasileff - Paolo Sebastian Couture, Melanie Flintoft - Director, Australian Fashion Labels, Kelly Noble - Glam Digital Media Services, Bec Cochrane - Media Makeup and the Festival's Makeup Director and Helen Jansson- Principal Lecturer, TAFE SA.

Day 4/5: Held at the Art Gallery of South Australia, Fashion Icons in Conversation will host over 90 emblematic haute couture garments created by some of the world’s leading fashion designers. Exclusive to Adelaide, Fashion Icons: Masterpieces from the collection of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, Paris draws on the most comprehensive collection of French fashion in the world.
The exhibition is an unparalleled opportunity to view legendary couture garments from over 50 of the world’s leading fashion designers. Spanning eight decades, Fashion Icons examines the evolution of fashion revealing modern fashion’s incredible and fascinating journey.

Day 6 of AFF sees an after hours event held at the Myer Centre called, Fast Fashion Uncovered. This free event will be embracing the rising fast fashion movement, showcasing a spring/summer season fast fashion parade. This unique event will feature the latest in fashion trends at affordable prices, teaming fast fashion looks from centre retailers and some of Australia’s most loved designer pieces. You will see how to style up fast fashion trends for the spring/summer season and learn how to put together looks.
Day 7: Hell yeah, we're 7 days into the festival already! One week into AFF, Adelaide goes all Victoria's Secret on us, at the Finesse Lingerie Showcase, presented by Matrix. This invite only event will see VIPs treated to an exclusive cocktail party and lingerie parade showcasing fantasy lingerie alongside the latest trends in lingerie available from Westfield Marion. Day 8: Boutique is the largest group show of the Adelaide Fashion Festival to feature beloved boutiques from metro and suburban Adelaide. Bringing the shopping experience to the runway with affordable incentives to give your wardrobe the boost it needs for the Summer season, there will also be a range of runway firsts that have never been seen at the Festival before. Be there while we make history at the iconic Adelaide Film Studios!
Day 9: The Adelaide Vintage Expo kicks off today at the Norwood Concert Hall, transporting punters back in time through fashion from the 1920's – 1990's. With over 30 Fashion, Home wares, Textiles and Accessory businesses from all around Australia under one roof, we know that budding designers, fashionistas, and vintage lovers will have a one stop shopping experience.
If you missed out on tickets to Fashion Icons in Conversation, you can still peruse the Fashion Icons collection at the Art Gallery of South Australia throughout the fashion festival (10am - 5pm daily). For $25, you can view the 90 emblematic haute couture garments created by some of the world’s leading fashion designers.
Day 10: The last day of AFF plays host to arguably the biggest public runway event of the festival, Norwood Place Parades on Norwood Parade. Norwood Place Parades are enjoyed by all, with 2014, returning to The Parade, on a Sunday afternoon featuring an outdoor catwalk and fashion parades to showcase the latest in-season trends from the many fashion retailers along The Parade. The event will also include the much-loved Norwood Fashion Market, live entertainment, a catwalk-side High Tea experience and much more.
Day 10 will also see a sophisticated area dedicated to the Gentlemen of Adelaide, with 'The Gentleman's Lounge' event being held at The Maid. From young designers putting Adelaide on the map, to the iconic stalwarts of the fashion scene - this area is committed to embracing all that makes up the Gentlemen of Adelaide. The Gentleman's Lounge will showcase emerging designers and celebrate those who have contributed to the menswear scene from its humblest beginnings, sharing their stories and tracking the evolution of tailoring in the Adelaide marketplace.
