GretaKate: Blanche Collection

RAD LIFE

GretaKate: Blanche Collection

Mirna Taslidza

Adelaide's fashion darling Greta Rumsby, unveiled her first ever GretaKate bridal collection at an intimate garden party and fashion parade last Wednesday night.

Taking place in her Norwood showroom, Rumsby showcased the Blanche Collection,  a sophisticated and elegant bridal collection designed for the modern women.

With French couture in mind, Rumsby was inspired by the beautiful and luxurious fabrics she sourced from around the world; including french beaded lace, silks, soft tulles and luxurious leathers. Together creating a beautiful yet interesting textural garment, the impeccable elegance and eternal style of Grace Kelly also inspired many of Rumsby's timeless and romantic silhouettes. "Each garment takes on a character and this is depicted through the name of each dress," says Rumsby.

At Wednesday's launch, models graced a red carpet runway showcasing the individuality of each gown. To often, 'ready-to-wear' bridal collections are a plethora of identical white dresses, however it seems Rumsby has mastered the art creating unique yet effortlessly romantic and elegant gowns for even the fussiest of brides.

The stand outs are certainly the Sabine - a glorious full-length gown with a soft tulle skirt, plunging back and gorgeous bow detailing; and the Amelie - an elegant and almost Great Gastby inspired gown, also featuring a plunging back and semi sheer skirt.

"My favourite piece from this collection is called Veronika. It is made from silver silk satin and french hand beaded lace. It is very delicate and ethereal."

"Veronika was designed for a close friend, who couldn’t end up wearing the dress for her event, so with a few tweaks it was created for this exclusive range. This dress is therefore named after her," says Rumsby.

"I was incredibly overwhelmed with the response I have had from the GretaKate Bridal launch. I had put my heart and soul into this range and it is wonderful to get a great response."

"A huge thanks must go to all the other creative local businesses - Ryan Abbas Photography, Orbe hair and beauty, Mandy’s makeup, Caitlyn’s cakes and Illume flowers for turning my dream into reality."

If you loved the 'Blache Collection' as much as we did, all styles can be found on the GretaKate website, as well as more details about her couture creations.
