One of Australia's most prominent and admired festivals WOMADelaide 2015 has just announced their first line-up. The iconic music festival will be held from March 6th-9th next year at the beautiful Botanic Park. The first announcement has included 25 international artists, with headliner Senegalese singer, percussionist and social revolutionist Youssou N'Dour to bring his act for the third time ever. N'Dour is a senior statesman of African music, writing compelling songs paired with an impressive performance with his band Super Etoile de Dakar.
Following N'Dour as headliner, WOMADelaide brings an exceptional lineup to the 2015 festival including classic bluesman Charlie Musselwhite from the USA, Canadian vocalist Rufus Wainwright, Brazilian phenomenon Flavia Coelho, and UK's Public Broadcasting Service bringing some post-rock to the table.
The festival will run over four spectacular days in the heart of Adelaide, with the program featuring performances as well as workshops from seven stages. Surrounding the park will be some of the world's best traditional and contemporary musicians and dancers, a KidZone activity area to keep to the little-ones busy, visual artists and street theatre, Taste the World cooking program, Planet Talks environmental discussions program, Artists in Conversation, The Electrolounge, as well as the famous WOMADelaide markets that include 100 amazing food, retail and charity stalls.
