Boutique Runway: No Ordinary Fashion Show

Boutique Runway: No Ordinary Fashion Show

Mirna Taslidza

It was the biggest event of this years Adelaide Fashion Festival, and boy did Boutique presented by Energy DNA, not disappoint!

Located at Adelaide's iconic Film Studios, the event featured over 30 of Adelaide's best retailers, showcasing their latest Spring/Summer looks. For the second year in a row, technologically savvy guests were able to snap up their favourite runway looks immediately, literally shopping the runway by simply scanning a QR code that redirected them to the retailers online store.

The night began with guests, media and Adelaide's fashion elite mingling, snapping photos and treating themselves to some of the delectable goodies available, including refreshing cocktails from Botanic Bar, premium wines from Swire and Noble Estate and freshly popped popcorn.

A selection of Adelaide's most popular DJ's, including Boutique's MC and organiser Fillip with an F, played some seriously good beats while models from Finesse Models Australia took the runway, sporting this seasons most wanted trends from boutiques such as lucid8, Lovetwain, TU YU and Realstore.  There was everything from edgy street wear, floaty gowns, eye-popping race wear and smouldering lingerie, showcasing the each boutiques unique nature.

Now i know what your thinking... "yeah that just sounds like any old fashion show..?" That's where you'd be wrong!

Keeping guests on their toes, this year Boutique amped up its game pushing the stereotypical fashion show boundaries. Pole dancers from Plush Pole dancing and fitness studio pulled out some sultry moves, male strippers from Dante Entertainment shook what their mama gave them, while drag queens (sadly with more toned legs than me...) embodied RuPauls drag race in Studio 15 Kaftans

And for the first time, guests were encouraged to whip out their smart phones to tweet, Facebook and Instagram throughout the show using #BOUTIQUEAFF #2014AFF hashtags when posting content.

After the fashion show all guests were invited to a celebratory after party at the Tax Payer.

Without doubt this years Boutique fashion show was a fun and unique fashion experience which showcased the best of Adelaide's thriving fashion scene.
