Yesterday saw the first official event of the Adelaide Fashion Festival come to life, in the form of Variety on King William. Throughout the day, the parades showcased the latest spring/summer fashion trends from retailers along the King William Road shopping strip, the sun was shining, the local wines were flowing and the food was to-die-for.
The day began with a garden party for VIPs and guests, before the public were invited in the alfresco dining area alongside the main catwalk.
Whilst everyone was being seated, we had the opportunity to head backstage, have a chat to the models and get a sense of what was to come throughout the day. The models and behind the scenes personnel were excited for what was to come, and the clothing lined up for the day was simply ah-may-zing. With retailers such as Denim & Cloth, Wild Child, Designer Exchange, Muse Boutique and Liza Emanuele, Vareity on KWR guests were in for a treat.

The parades began just after 1pm, with the food heading out to guests soon after. The menu comprised of a delicious four course, spring menu, made with local produce and matched with SA wines. While guests were enjoying their meals, the parade went off without a hitch - showcasing clothing from the many different retailers along the strip.
This spring season, colour is in. The runway was lined with colour and patterns, ranging from far-out-that's-bright to just a pop of colour here and there. Dresses and skirts are well and truly dominating pants and shorts for the ladies, whilst the men are in for a more relaxed yet ultra chic trend this season, pairing patterned shirts with a simple coloured short.
All in all, the Adelaide Fashion Festival's Variety on King William parades were a hit. For more photos and social snaps of the day, check out our Facebook page.
