Cheese, wine, gin … cheese … need I go on?
Australia’s biggest Cheese Festival and ONLY Fermentation festival is hitting Adelaide at the end of October. Brand SA were in charge of hosting a fromage-filled launch event to showcase what we have to look forward to. Taking place in the exclusive pop up space of Lot Fourteen, the guests were ushered into an elegantly lit room with beautiful local produce in every corner.
The first thing in sight was an exquisite cheese board, the stuff of Instagram dreams. We tried well over twenty types of local and French cheeses along with an array of sourdough breads, olives, and dips. Expect every cheese imaginable at the actual event, including the almighty Raclette by Frencheese and drool-worthy delicacies from the Smelly Cheese Shop.
Cheese and alcohol go together like … well, cheese and alcohol. Look forward to an abundance of G&T bars, brewed beverages, and a myriad of wines including our very own variations from wine tour favourite Coriole. Staff kept our glasses filled and our cheese cravings satisfied, filling hungry, post-work bellies.
The go-getter, cheese maker, and all around legend Kris Lloyd returns as the Director of the festival. Her speech at the launch touched on the introduction of FERMENT to the festival, the success of 2017, and her hopes for what is to come. We're in for speed tastings, live music, alcohol galore, and cheese good enough to tempt the lactose intolerant.
Oh yeah, and the “Master of Fromage” Matt Preston will be there. It’ll be worth attending just to see his cravat IRL.
