Last year a few of you might recall a little article we wrote on the speciality coffee café Third Time Lucky. Since then, they’ve been hard at work pumping out some of Adelaide's best coffee and dishing up a range of incredible bagels and donuts. Recently however, a big change occurred - they’ve acquired a full kitchen and an all-day brunch menu; its bloody beautiful!
Located at Shop 4, 436 Henley Beach Road, Third Time Lucky is certainly filling the demand for breakfast/brunch style food in the area - and succeeding at it. Having been friends since an early age, business partners Heath and Quang have used their friendship to compliment and build on their professional lives. While Heath takes care of front of house (most notably the exceptional coffee, produced on an amazing Synesso machine) Quang is back of house as chef, delivering excellence after excellence. Think Devour Patisserie if you’re unfamiliar with his previous work.
Moving back toward this new menu (and before you ask, yes, there’s a Smashed Avo dish and it leaves most other Avo’s dead in the water), if you’re ready to be a little adventurous, then the Smoked Eggplant is worth its weight in gold! On the other hand, if you’re after quick and easy you can’t go past one of the Bacon and Egg Rolls. They’ve also taken care to have both gluten free and vegan/vegetarian options, so whoever you are, there’s going to be something here for you.
Whilst there are plans to expand the menu beyond the current options (see photo), the sooner you get in, the more time you’ll have to brag to your friends for knowing about it first and less time you’ll have to wait in the inevitable lines that come with success.
One last thing, for a limited time they’re pumping out Hot Cross Bun donuts and they’re even better than they sound, trust us, we wouldn’t lie to Radelaidians.
