Well folks, those Summer feels are just about over for us Adelaidians. Although this is a saddening realisation for many, the cooler months definitely have certain perks. For instance, you can swap that skimpy bikini or those tight budgie smugglers for sweats and an oversized knitted jumper - a little more forgiving if you wish to over indulge in your favourite foods. Who am I kidding, we do that no matter the time of year. Though if you’re anything like me, the change in seasons has got you thinking about food even more than usual (if that’s even possible).
What better comfort food than a soft on the inside and slightly crunchy on the outside, chocolate brownie. No one knows baked goods better than Four Seeds and their brownies have been hailed the best in town.
Created in 2011 by owner and baker Mim Gollan, Four Seeds have found success in the passion for great desserts. Made by hand in the Adelaide Hills, these guys focus on high quality, fresh and local ingredients to perfect their recipes. It’s likely that you’ve already seen the Four Seeds vintage yellow pop-up stall at recent markets and events, they have become regulars at Womad festival and the Bowerbird Markets. Their salted caramel brownies are a crowd favourite, and for very good reason. I don’t think I can accurately describe just how phenomenal they are, but if I had to use one word it would be heavenly.
These brownies are so sought after that they're currently sold through multiple cafes around the city. These include East End Providore, Pickle in the Middle, Taylor Blend and Tell Henry. But it doesn’t stop there; Four Seeds also do a variety of other baked goods - cupcakes, biscuits, cakes and their delectable brownie ice cream sandwiches. They're also experts in catering for specific dietary requirements, meaning vegan options are also available.
So next time you’re passing by the Four Seeds stall, do yourself a favour and grab something sweet. Be warned, it’s basically impossible to stop at just one. Four Seeds is also available for speciality orders for your own special occasion or event, you can enquire using the form on their website.
