Adelaide And Little Italy Collide At Spaghetti Junction

Michaela McGrath

In the corner of City Cross Arcade and bordered by Grenfell Street sits the city’s latest collision of Adelaide and Little Italy, Spaghetti Junction. Offering a range of delicious goods from pasta and pizzas, to salads and snacks, it's no wonder that the prime, central café is already making waves with the CBD’s lunchtime crowds. Whether you're eating-in or on the run, the café offers their own quaint seating area as well as swift takeaway meals. Paired with speedy service and inexpensive prices, the delicious eats of Spaghetti Junction will have you whispering bellissimo into your coffee in no time.

On Tuesday, January 31 we sampled some of the delectable treats and eats available at the charming Italian spot. Spoilt for choice, we nibbled on an array of specialty Italian nosh including the ‘Going Old School’ pasta dish, ‘Who Killed The Kale’ salad and of course ALL of the pizza. Alongside these classic Italian dishes, we also enjoyed the specialty ‘Junction Burger’, ‘Salt and Pepper Prawns’ and of course, their infamous ‘Coffee Cones’. Each dish was delicious in its own right; however, we’ve selected the best of the best to bring you the cream of the crop at Spaghetti Junction.

Our Top Picks:

Salt And Pepper Prawns: Perfect to accompany any of the menu’s larger meals, this twist on the classic salt and pepper squid holds its own as a snack or lighter lunch. Served with tasty crinkle cut chips and aioli dipping sauce, the lightly seasoned prawns are ideal for a midday pick-me-up.

SJ Special

SJ Special: This is no ordinary “pizza-with-the-lot”, The SJ Special kicks it up a notch with an abundance of toppings that each work to compliment each other. Boasting all of the Italian staples this pizza is loaded with salami, bacon, onion, cherry tomatoes, prosciutto, cheese and basil.

Coffee Cones: A heavenly meeting of caffeine kick and decadent dessert, Spaghetti Junction’s Coffee Cones have been garnering serious traction. With an indulgent combination of waffle cone, melted milk chocolate and steaming cappuccino and priced at only $2, these delicious bundles are notorious for selling out fast so be sure to get in quick.

We absolutely adored tasting the best bits of City Cross’ newest kids on the block. Next time you find your stomach grumbling for some scrumptious Italian carbs, head on down to Spaghetti Junction. Keen to feast your eyes on all of their goodies? Follow the team on their Instagram here.
