Oporto's New Menu The Real MVP, Move Over Everyone Else

This week has just been an explosion of good news; first Frank Ocean comes out of hiding to drop album Blonde, rumours of Khal Drogo returning to GoT, and Oporto launches their new menu that'll have you salivating. If you're sitting there thinking 'oh yeah Oporto, I keep hearing about it but never eaten there' then why are you still reading this? Stop. What. You're. Doing. Go to your nearest Oporto store rn and thank me later GOSH DARNIT ELIZABETH. Honestly, you have not been truly blessed until you've tasted the Holiness that is flame-grilled Portuguese Chicken (don't worry vegos they have options for y'all too).

Alright enough hype, here's what's been going down at Oporto's OTR in Radelaide. We mere mortals were extremely fortunate to experience the launch night for Oporto's new menu - while favourites like Bondi Burger and BLT Burger remained on the menu here, we said hello to some changes and newbies too. The beloved Veggie Burger gets a tasty revamp, and we say hello to Bondi Box, Spicy Chicken Saladeira and Embruhlo, Jalapeño Poppers and plenty of guilt-free sides and brekkie options. Launch night we got a BTS look at Oporto kitchens and tried some of the new menu items on offer, from burgers to spicy rice, churros to grilled corn!
Fun Fact: Oporto were going to kill the BLT Burger in Adelaide but because it's the second most popular dish here, our reps fought for it to be kept on!

Not only have Oporto up'ed the ante on all things taste, spice and herb wise, but manage to keep their kitchens dedicated to fresh local produce without a microwave in sight, setting a new standard for fast food joints everywhere. They pride themselves on using South Australian ingredients and helping the local economy while providing customers with the highest quality at affordable prices - "fresh not frozen, grilled not fried" is part of their mission statement.

The creator of Oporto Antonio Cerqueira established the roots of his Portuguese heritage to Bondi in 1986. With a small store and people lining up down the street to try his Chilli Sauce, to now serving 15 million people Australia wide annually, I'd say this is a pretty cool 'started from the bottom' story.

Next time you're stuck on ideas go ahead and check out your nearest Oporto. We recommend getting on the Prego Sauce 'cause it's probably the best thing you'll ever dip a chip into, but definitely try (at least once) the Bondi Burger with their famous Chilli Sauce. You'll be hooked and thanking me/hating me because bye bye disposable income #sorrynotsorry.
