Everyone in Adelaide by now knows about Jamie’s Italian on King William Street. With mega-high ceilings, rustic Italian décor and busy atmosphere, Jamie’s is now a staple place to go for after work drinks and weekend catch ups with friends, or providing wonderful meal memories for families.
To bring in more punters during the weekdays, Jamie’s Italian have launched their ‘Super Lunch’ Menu offering 2 courses for $25, or 3 courses for $30. Featuring their most popular dishes, the menu consists of 5 starters, 5 mains and 4 desserts to choose from, 12-5pm Monday to Friday! We were lucky enough to try a variety of the menu to bring y’all up to speed with how fantastic the meals actually are.
Sharing starters seem to be the way most Mediterranean joints run these days, so we did just that. Here’s what we devoured:
- Crispy Squid: all things fried are needed in winter; with the perfectly cooked squid and combo of garlic mayo. We loved this dish.
- Tomato & Ricotta Bruschetta: can’t go wrong with an Italian classic; slow-roasted cherry tomatoes paired with whipped artisan ricotta, fresh basil on locally sourced ciabatta.
- Porcini Arancini: did we mention we love fried stuff? Chunks of porcini and melted cheese in these bad boys are paired with a spicy arrabbiata sauce, making it hard to share.
- Truffle Tagliatelle: house-made pasta with a beautifully simple butter, aged Parmesan and black truffle sauce had us all wanting to swim in and mop up the sauce with bread #carbloading.
For mains it was each to their own, so here’s the verdict from the RADL staff:
Alana, Super Food Salad: “Loved the hints of mint & citrus paired with grains, beetroot and broccolini; so fresh and delish”.
Harrison, Gennaro’s Chicken Club: “Mouth-watering! I’d probably sell an arm or leg to have one delivered to me on the daily”.
Emilie, Pumpkin Ravioli: “Delicious buttery sauce, could bathe in for days with the perfect balance of chilli and rosemary”.
Alexia, Tagliatelle Bolognese: “Rich pork & beef Bolognese had me feeling full and satisfied; the right flavours were all there, and then some more”.
Dessert is always a yes for us at This Is Radelaide. We enjoyed a warm and fudgy Epic Brownie topped with ice cream and caramelised popcorn, as well as ‘today’s flavours’ Sundae’s (mine was topped with Butterscotch sauce and honeycomb bits, of course).
