Situated on Goodwood Rd, this wonderfully renovated vintage X retro lounge bar is the brain-child from the folks behind The Pantry on Egmont, a cute cafe nestled deep within Hawthorn suburbia. Ginger's provides patrons with the perfect blend of delicious food, aesthetically pleasing art and the best eggs benedict on the South side. 

You can expect to be served by some super cool guys and gals sporting beanies, beards and bad-ass barista skills. The menu is short and sweet, but is sure to tempt the tastebuds and fill those early morning breakfast cravings. 

Whether you're meeting with friends, getting some uni work done or simply having your morning coffee while reading the latest RADL news, Ginger's is the spot for you. There is an astro turf courtyard out back for those delightfully sunny days, whilst the interior is filled with mismatched furniture, different textured walls and a fantastic kitsch feel. The vibe is chilled, the staff are friendly and the cafe is trendy... what more could you ask for! 


Eggs Benedict - Ginger's eggs benedict is like no other benedict we have had before. The sauce is saucy, the eggs are cooked to perfection and the choice of bacon, salmon or black pudding sides make us weak at the knees. 

V: For all you vege lovers, we definitely recommend the Garden Breakfast served with eggs of your choice, along with avocado, mushrooms, tomatoes, house baked beans and some seriously good sourdough toast. I mean, you can never go wrong with a big vege filled breakfast, right?! 

For the sweet tooth, Ginger's has a display fridge full of ever-changing cakes and sweeties. We tried the lemon curd/passionfruit tart - the pastry alone sent us into a whirls of buttery-filled dreams.

Not overly pricey, and there are options for every sized budget, but the best time to come would when pay day rolls round, as you'll be wanting to buy more than one dish!
