Steve Almond, who finds himself in a terrible predicament. He was recently diagnosed with a brain tumour and was operated on last week. Unfortunately the tumour was so deep-seated that not all of it could be removed and the only hope now are particulary aggressive and debilitating chemotherapy sessions. He has been told by his surgeon that the prognosis is not positive.
Steve was the stage mixing engineer with our band "The Boys" and travelled Australia with us for many years as part of the road crew. He was always a great worker and supporter of our drive to become an important part of the music industry.
His wife Marie has confided in me that they will need to sell their house to deal with the mounting bills and the fact that she has been advised she will need to be with Steve 24/7 means they are both unable to work.
Six great local Adelaide bands will be holding a benefit night at the Gov on Wed 16th August from 7.30pm - 11.30pm. All tickets are $20 and the monies raised will be handled by Australia's music industry registered charity organisation "Support Act" to enable Steve and Marie to accept all the income free of tax.
Tickets: HERE or at the door!
